The Children's Brittle Bone Foundation (CBBF) will not be accepting applications for the 2003-4 funding cycle (i.e., due date October, 2002) for the CBBF Fellowship program, or for the CBBF OI Treatment Challenge program. The CBBF remains committed to supporting collaborative research using converging therapeutic approaches for the treatment and/or prevention of Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI). In order to support such interdisciplinary research, the CBBF intends to fund an OI Research Center. An important component of this multi-site Center should be a translational element, in which basic scientific research is applied to clinical issues in novel and innovative ways. This OI Center would be funded at a level of approximately $400,000/ year for a maximum of 4 years. Interested principle investigators should contact Dr. Matthew Breyer, CBBF, Division of Nephrology, Vanderbilt University Medical School, S-3223 MCN, Nashville, TN, 37232.
Thank you,
Dr. Philip McCabe
